Thank you for visiting our site! Becoming part of our community is incredibly easy, you just have to do the following.

Create an account
Create an account using the appropriate button in the menu bar and fill out all the required information. Make sure you're using a valid e-mail address you have access to, as this will be required to continue.

Optional: Join the Discord server
While it is technically not required, we strongly advise you to become part of our Discord server so you can get help, either during or after the sign up process, with Pactbound.

Send your joining application
Before we can let you join our community, we will need to verify your e-mail address and judge your writing skills.
  • Information for non-native English speakers: In general, we advice you to at least have a C1 level (as described by the CEFR) in English. This might also be referred to as "advanced level", sitting right in-between "higher intermediate" and "native".
Read everything carefully from this point onward!

The application e-mail must include the following:
  • A short story of 200 words or more. This piece of text can be about anything, as long as you are the one who has written it and uses a third person POV in the past tense. If you've role-played on a different role-playing website previously, you may also link us to something you've written over there.
  • Your forum username
  • Your age. This will not be added to and displayed on your profile unless you explicitly set it to do so yourself and will only be used to comply with legal regulations. You must be older than 13 to join Pactbound. If you live in the EU, you must be 16 years or older to join without parental consent.
Furthermore, while the following is optional, including all or even some of it would be helpful for us. They will not impact any decisions made on your application, there are no wrong answers.
  • Your Discord username
  • How did you find us?
  • Have you role-played before?
  • Do you have any hobbys?
Stuck on writing this short story thing? No worries, everyone is from time to time. Here are a bunch of things that might inspire you:
  • A story based of any book you've read, film you've watched or video game you've played recently
  • A fairy tale with a twist or from a different perspective (like the villain's)
  • Ask for help on the Discord server or message a(n) admin/moderator
The test of time
Now you will have to... wait. I know, it's a bit anti-climatic, but we will get back to you as soon as possible! You could, of course, start thinking about what your first role-play character will be like. Don't worry about failing the application, you will probably do fine and even if you don't, you may retry as many times as you want!

Anyways, after we have approved your application, you're in! You want to check out the other posts in the Newcomers guide.
